Las Vegas in USA, Updated 2020 (appro.).- For decades, the flying car has stood out as a vision for the ultimate in consumer technology (along with the personal jet pack). Early versions never got very far, as they relied on large, finicky, expensive, hybrid car-plus-plane designs with extended immobile wings — inevitably inviting the problem of needing folding wings. With the advent of mass-market drone technology, and the decreasing cost and increasing capacity of batteries and electric motors, it was just a matter of time before a personal flying car — or at least a personal flying drone — would be possible. Japanese drone startup Aeronext is the latest to take aim at that vision, with its announcement of the Flying Gondola at CES 2020.

The Kittyhawk flyer was developed to help humans experience the ocean from a bird's-eye view it was created with the use of an extremely aerodynamic and lightweight material which brings its way down to a manageable 115 kilograms it flies at a maximum elevation of three meters with a top speed of 32 km/h and can fly for as long as 20 minutes without needing a recharge the Kittyhawk flyer operates with the use of ten battery-powered propellers and two joysticks and has been flown more than 25,000 times since its debut.
